{"id":36,"date":"2018-01-08T15:47:42","date_gmt":"2018-01-08T15:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kidschat.net\/blog\/?p=36"},"modified":"2020-06-18T01:18:09","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T01:18:09","slug":"safety-reminders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kidschat.net\/blog\/safety-reminders\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety Reminders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We wanted to take the time now to write about safety and the use of chat rooms. \u00a0 Not just our chat rooms, but any other websites you may find yourself on.<\/p>\n<p>We have a page set up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidschat.net\/safety.html\">listing our safety rules<\/a>\u00a0but often times they are overlooked or outright ignored.<\/p>\n<p>Please, we urge you to read that page over and we cannot stress the importance of being safe online enough. \u00a0 We have dealt with hundreds of complaints over the years where a user of our site was placed in danger. \u00a0 Often times, the issues could have been avoided if they had just read our online safety page.<\/p>\n<p>We will always do our part to work with law enforcement and put away the bad guys (as we have for many years). \u00a0 Our friends at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chat-avenue.com\">chat avenue<\/a>\u00a0have helped us with some moderator referrals. \u00a0We do staff moderators inside the chat rooms and hope to add additional moderators in the near future. \u00a0 However, having said that, it is very important that you take your own precautions to make yourself safe.<\/p>\n<p>There is only so much we can do. \u00a0Please do not take the dangers of online chatting lightly. \u00a0They are very real. \u00a0We have heard and also been assisting in hundreds of cases over the years. \u00a0A lot of them resulting in jail time for the\u00a0perpetrator. \u00a0These are very serious crimes that these bad people are committing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, let&#8217;s not let it get to that level. \u00a0Stay safe always.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We wanted to take the time now to write about safety and the use of chat rooms. \u00a0 Not just our chat rooms, but any other websites you may find yourself on.
